The above is an image of a rich star and nebula field in the constellation Auriga. Click the image to get a larger, nearly full-frame view. Visible in this image are IC405 (Flaming Star Nebula, toward bottom center), IC410 (middle left), IC417 (small area of nebulosity at top center), M38 (open cluster at top right), and NGC1907 (Herschel 39-7, small open cluster to the left of M38).
Ambient temperature was between 25-30°F during the imaging session.
