What is the Polar HOME Position? |

The following applies when a LX200GPS is in the polar HOME position:
With the telescope mounted on a wedge the forks should be pointing toward the North Celestial Pole. The OTA is also pointed to the North Celestial Pole and "upside down"; the finder scope is on the bottom side of the OTA. If a line is drawn from the top of one fork to the top of the other fork it will be parallel to the northern horizon.
This is the general position of the polar HOME position. More precision is needed when actually aligning the forks to the North Celestial Pole. See below for more information.
